The 4Cs of Diamonds

Carat, Color, Clarity, and Cut—these are the essential factors that define the appearance, brilliance, and value of a diamond. Discover with us what makes each diamond truly unique!

Carat (Weight)

Diamonds are measured in carats, a unit of weight where 1 carat equals 200 mg. For instance, a diamond weighing 1 gram equals 5 carats.
Two diamonds of the same weight can vary greatly in price, as all 4Cs influence their value. When other factors are equal, the larger the diamond, the rarer and more valuable it becomes.

Color

The clearer a diamond is, the higher its value.
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) introduced a globally recognized color scale ranging from D (completely colorless) to Z (noticeable color).
Diamonds that exceed Z in coloration fall into the Fancy Color Diamond category. These are exceptionally rare and precious.

Clarity

Every diamond is unique—like a fingerprint.
Clarity is evaluated under 10x magnification to detect any imperfections or inclusions.
The GIA clarity scale includes 11 grades, from Flawless (perfect) to Included (visible imperfections).
Flawless diamonds are exceedingly rare and highly valuable.

Cut

The cut is the most critical factor influencing a diamond’s brilliance and brightness.
Shape and Proportions: The geometry of the stone affects how light interacts with it.
Brilliance: A perfect cut allows light to enter, reflect, and create dazzling sparkles.
Cut is graded from Excellent to Poor based on the precision of proportions, symmetry, and finish. A diamond with an excellent cut maximizes light reflection for unparalleled brilliance.
